I am an LA native. I have had an active art practice since 1991. Over the years my work has been seen as expressionism, social realism, historical painting, political art, surreal, decorative and more. The title doesn't matter. It is about being authentic. Take your time. This is a "Looking for Waldo" experience. I am a narrative painter of people, life, and now birds.
My new bird series is a new focus of my work. I have always added animals into my figurative works of people so this is a natural progression and has become a new passion.

In 2020 I began a bird series. The natural world captured my attention, as I seek to escape to a safer place. Many friends, and nature photographers have been generous in allowing me to use their photos as references. I have a new awareness of the loss of environment for wildlife and man's need to the manifest destiny that has led to environmental catastrophe. It is my wish to understand how to safeguard our wildlife and inspire others to feel connected to what is real. I am grateful for our planet and appreciate the incredible beauty of nature. Loving one another, acceptance of our differences and an appreciation for all we have been given is important.
